Found a number that looks wrong?

Please tell us — this is the most useful email you can send. This site exists to publish official figures without inventing any, so a figure that looks off is either a bug worth fixing or something worth explaining better. Both matter.

It helps enormously if you include:

  • The page you were on — the URL is perfect.
  • The figure you saw, and what you expected instead.
  • Where your expectation comes from, if there is a source we should read.

The methodology page may already explain it — particularly how prices are converted between weekly and monthly, how state figures are aggregated from county ones, and why the data year is what it is. If it doesn’t answer you, that’s our gap to close, so write anyway.

02

Anything else

  • Questions about the data— how it’s sourced, what a label means, or why a county is blank.
  • Press and research — you are welcome to cite the figures; see the terms for how, and do get in touch if you need something specific.
  • Privacy — anything about your own data, covered in the privacy policy.

What we can’t help with

Being straight about this saves us both an email: ChildcareCost publishes price data and nothing more. We are not a childcare provider, an agency, or a referral service. We can’t find you a place, put you on a waiting list, tell you what a specific daycare charges, or help with a dispute with one. For any of that, your state or county childcare resource and referral agency is the right door.
